Divorce during the holidays in Texas

The holiday season during divorce can become more of a daunting task than an enjoyable event, very quickly. It use to be all love & cheer, and now it's taken an awful turn as you and your spouse are no longer together.

Whether you're in the midst of divorce or have broken up, it can be emotionally devastating- especially with kids involved.

So how can you keep that holiday magic alive during such a hard time?

  • Keep your co-parenting positive: encourage your children to participate in traditions that their new home may bring. Be positive when it comes to pick up and drop off with the kids

  • Talk openly with your kids about what the holiday may be like in your new situation.

  • Plan and start new traditions with your kids

  • Talk to and rely on the support of your family and friends

The holiday's shouldn't just be about surviving, during a divorce, and Ashmore and Ashmore want's to make sure you know, you can keep the magic of the holiday's alive! We're here when you need us most.
